Above Ground - Tanks range in size from small 50 gallons to
large 1000 gallons. 50 & 100 (120) gallon tanks can be located
against a home or building. These tanks must be 3 feet away
from a door or window. Larger tanks must be 10 feet from a
property line or building. Osterman Propane tanks are painted
an attractive beige color.
Underground - Propane can fuel a home discreetly, almost
invisibly, from underground tanks. Once a propane tank is
buried, only a small dome is visible – mere inches above the
ground. The dome houses valves, gauges, and regulators,
allowing for easy servicing and refilling. Propane tanks are
constructed of heavy steel and have special corrosion
protection. Underground tanks pose no environmental risks
and have an expected lifespan of 40+ years. |
