Osterman Propane Fuels BEAC House of the Year

Bozrah, CT – May 18, 2007 – Osterman Propane is pleased to announce its participation with the Builders Association of Eastern Connecticut “2007 House of the Year” project.

BAEC House This 2,020 square foot colonial sits on 2 acres and has a number of features unique to a Propane fueled home:
  • The home is fueled discreetly by an underground 500-gallon tank which is buried in the front yard. The tank is protected by a heavy mastic paint coat and supplemental cathodic protection. Expected lifespan on the tank is over 40 years.
  • Hot water is provided by a highly efficient Rheem Tankless hot water heater. This tankless model provides enough hot water for every use in the home and is 30% more efficient than a standard 40-gallon gas hot water heater.
  • Heating is provided by a 92% efficient Lennox gas-fired furnace. Because of its high-efficiency, the furnace is direct-vented eliminating the need for an expensive chimney system.

The BAEC has been building and renovating homes under its House of the Year program for more than 20 years. The program helps educate homebuyers and building professionals on the latest in home design, products and construction technologies.

The home has been put on the market with an asking price of $395,000. Proceeds from the project will be used to fund the BAEC's ongoing educational and charitable activities.
