One important consideration when you plan to use Propane is the location of our storage tanks. In accordance with NFPA 58, there are minimum setbacks which must comply based on the size and type of the storage tank. 50 & 100 Gallons - These tanks are typically placed directly against the structure. Tanks must be a minimum of 3 feet away from a door, window, or other opening. Tanks must be 10 feet away from a source of ignition (electric outlet or meter, exhaust vent, AC units, etc.) 500 & 1000 Gallons - Must be located a minimum of 10 feet from a structure, source of ignition, and property line. Storage over 1200 gallons requires additional setbacks Underground Tanks - Must be located a minimum of 10 feet from a structure, source of ignition, and property line. Storage over 2000 gallons requires additional setbacks. |
